What to Expect
Depending on your previous experiences with therapy, you might find my approach a little unconventional. My practice is rooted in dismantling oppressive systems — both internal and external — so I tend to move away from prescriptive “tools and strategies,” unless that’s something you specifically want. Instead, our work together centers on deep listening, curiosity, and cultivating awareness in the present moment.
When we begin, I’ll invite you into conversations that explore where you are in your life — your values, lived experiences, and the ways your identities (such as race, gender, sexuality, ability, and culture) shape your world. This helps me understand not just what you’re moving through, but how your context and lineage inform your inner landscape, so I can support your healing in a way that truly honors you.
Many clients share that our sessions can sometimes bring up unease or vulnerability, especially when we touch into emotions or truths that have long been held beneath the surface. This is a natural — even sacred — part of the process. Healing often asks us to soften into discomfort, to meet what’s been hidden with compassion and curiosity. My role is to gently accompany you there, honoring your boundaries, pacing, and capacity each step of the way.
